CHRISTMAS RIDE by K. Francis
Background of the Screenplay for CHRISTMAS RIDE:
After looking into several working titles, including Road Trip, Road Warriors was the name of the screenplay written on Final Draft software and registered with WGAe under the pen name Leah Kia September 24, 2011, 233056.
After revisions and a change of title, the author Karen E. Francis, submitted it as CHRISTMAS RIDE and it received a copyright from the Library of Congress, October 17, 2011. Due to the personal nature of a most tragic incident in the story, Karen used the pen name in order to achieve some distance from the material while writing it.
This is the third completed registered screenplay by Karen, who produced numerous cable access public TV programs earlier in VA. The script also had a U.S. Title Research Report from Thomson CompuMark which was completed Jan, 2014 and the film has achieved clearance.
The screenplay was selected as a semi finalist at the Charleston, SC International Film Festival, April 24 - 28th, 2013.
CHRISTMAS RIDE was filmed mostly during the November, 2012, through January, 2013, with a few additional scenes completed August, 2013 in Covington, and Atoka TN and other locations in Memphis, TN, Olive Branch, Mississippi, and includes some special footage from Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, CA, MA and more. After that came the editing.
